What To Do If You Arrive In Florida, But Your Lugguage Doesn’t?

There’s nothing worse than arriving at your destination only to discover that your luggage hasn’t. Under regulations set out by the Montreal Convention, you are entitled to claim up to £803 a person from the airline. The regulations state, that any claim for lost or damaged baggage must be put in writing and addressed to the appropriate airline as soon as reasonably possible, as there are specified time limits in place which must be complied with. My advice is as soon as the problem occurs notify the staff at the airlines flight desk within the airport, and ensure that the matter is recorded on a property irregularityform and request a copy.Items such as cameras and jewellery should not be placed in bags which are to be checked into the hold, since the airlines have a get-out clause in their conditions of carriage denying liability for them.Make sure that in any event, you take out appropriate comprehensive to cover for lost, delayed and damaged baggage. This will allow you to claim for any shortfall in the compensation offered under the Montreal Convention.
