Florida Villas and Vacation Rentals

Finding A Florida Rental Villa That is Right For You.

Whether it is your first time travelling to Florida, or you are a seasoned visitor, finding the right accommodation in the best location, can be a daunting task, especially when the rest of your family or travelling party are relying on you finding somewhere which is suitable for their every need.

So how do you find a villa?

Many new visitors to Orlando, understandably set their sights on finding a rental property which is located as close to Walt Disney World as possible, however for those who have experienced the thrill and diversity that a vacation in Florida offers, there is a realisation that there is more to Orlando, Florida  other than just the many theme parks. This appears to result in many returning holiday makers setting their sights on  finding a property which offers the facilities which they prefer or need to allow them to get the most out of their holiday, especially during your down time.

Word of mouth generates a lot of interest in specific properties, after all a recomendation from a family member or close friend, goes a long way to pointing you in the right direction. What it does not cater for however is the matter of personal choice. What may have been an acceptable living space or range of facilities within a property for one family, does not necessarily mean that it would be suitable for yours.

So first things first set out a list covering the following points (in no particular order);

1. What size of property do you need? This is normally done by means of identifying the total number of bedrooms you require.

2. What facilities would you prefer in the property? There are a whole host of facilities which are available in the various rental properties, including cable tv, games room, spa, south facing pool deck, the list is almost endless.

This can also be off set by considering one of the many resort style communities, which offer a comprehensive number of communal facilities on site, such as gymnsiums, cyber cafes and games rooms.

If there is a keen golfer(s) in  your party, why not consider staying on a dedicated golfing community? Where many villas offer stunning views over the golf course, the majority of which include full practice facilities, a clubhouse and of course the opportunity to play some golf whilst the remainder of your party take the opportunity to do some shopping, whilst not having to think about returning to pick you up from the golf course.

3. Location location location. Due to the area over which the likes of the theme parks, shopping malls and restaurants are spread, it makes finding a central base very difficult. But, as a result of Orlando having an excellent road infrastructure getting to your destination is easy, no matter which community you choose. I would estimate that the average time to travel from one of the popular rental communities within Orlando, to Walt Disney world for example, would be in the region of 15-20 minutes depending on the time of year and the  time of day you travel.

Here is a detailed map, which accurately depicts both communities and the major theme parks, showing just how close everything is.

This is by no means an exhaustive list, and I welcome the input from other past and future visitors explaining the process which work best for them.
