Dollar Tree shops are fast becoming a favourite amongst international visitors to Orlando, thanks to the outlets cheap prices, variation of branded products and the growing numbers of outlets. As the name suggests, everything is $1 (plus tax), and before you start with the stereotypical thoughts and assumptions, this isn’t full of useless merchandise, Dollar Tree stores sell everything from Batteries to paper plates.
One of the main advantages of using such a cheap outlet is that you have the option of reducing the amount of weight you have in your luggage as a result of your family’s toiletries. Yes I know that some of you prefer or need a specific brand or type of hair product, but if Palmolive or Vidal Sasoon will suffice then leave it at home. Men’s grooming is catered for too, with plenty of shaving creams etc on offer. For the kids,
Dollar Tree is an ideal place to buy those all important pool toys, including the good old favourite noodle which for those who are understandably puzzled by the name they are a long piece of coloured foam which floats, kids love them. General household cleaning products are another great buy at Dollar Tree, don’t pay extra at Wal-Mart.
As for food, we get our Minute Maid frozen drinks and water from Dollar Tree, not to mention the tub of Ben and Jerrys ice cream.
All in all Dollar Tree stores are a cheaper alternative to the larger super stores but without a compromise.
